Our newest member: Our newest member is Ernani “Ernie” Braganza on the left with our president, Joan Davis. Ernie comes to us after retiring from the Navy and has already had an impact by getting us back on Facebook.
Kecoughtan High Key Club
Our sponsored Kecoughtan High School Key Club has adopted a program to address student mental health issues and anxiety which can lead to depression, or worse.
Currently, the Kecoughtan Key Club has used information and displays to convey their message, and with the sponsoring Kiwanis Club of Mercury 64 has expanded by adding a pavilion to provide a quiet comforting space for teachers and counselors to bring small groups of students to address any anxiety and mental health issues.
Members of the Kecoughtan High School Key Club cut the ribbon to officially open the pavilion. Dr. Dwayne Lucas, executive principal is in the second row – the tall gentleman in the blue suit. Also shown are the members of the Key Club, members of the Hampton City Schools staff and members of the Kiwanis Club of Mercury 64.
Other stuff going on:
In person meetings (Peake) March 11 and 25, April 8 and 22, May 13 and 27. Zoom meetings March 4 and 18, April 1 and 15, May 6 and 20. All meetings at 9:00. The club and foundation annual meetings will be held April 29 at the Williamsburg-Jamestown airport at 11:30.
